Parents have previously attached tether straps at seat bight, the space between vehicle seat cushions and back. Not pretty, clumsy and tether straps must also be readjusted as soon as front seat is moved.
We always use extra long loops in the back of Skoda and long loops up front. Installing not only looks great but is also very functional.
The experienced nerd can, by looking at straps, see that current seats used are Maxi-Cosi Mobi and Axkid Minikid.

Tesla Model Y is a spacious car but it`s almost impossible to install rear facing car seats with tether straps. That`s why we always install attachment loops in cars by Tesla.

Joie I-Soren installed in a Skoda Octavia. A great Plustested seat approved to impressive 22.5 kg with Isofix.
Seat is identical to Joie I-Prodigi except approval is 61-125 cm instead of 40-125 cm. Not really relevant if an infant seat is used the first six months or so.
Compact size, installed behind driver, and leg space is adjustable. Not as impressive as Axkid ONE but still decent to be a seat with Isofix installation.

Two Axkid ONE in a Tesla Model Y. This car is spacious and great for car seats. Attachment loops must unfortunately be installed for rear facing seats with tether straps.
ONE/ONE 2/ONE 3 will thanksfully fit well in pretty much any car with Isofix. Small or large. Seat behind driver with good leg space and the one behind passenger with massive space.

A quick look at brand new Axkid Core, how long does the seat last rear facing?
We always measure distance from bum to bottom of head support to find out how long a seat will last. Child can basically use the seat until shoulders touch the head support.
Measurements:
Core: 42 cm
Stretch: 44 cm
ONE/ONE 2/ONE 3: 42 cm
Movekid/Minikid3/4: 49 cm
Core will last about as long as ONE where we say "usually to around seven years or about 130 cm). Stretch will last slightly longer and Minikid 3/4 far longer.

Brand new Axkid Minikid Core installed in a smallish Ford Focus. Angle adjuster in position two which in this car means 32 degree angle. Keep in mind rear facing seats should not use more than 35 degrees.
Very easy to install Core incredibly tight! At least as tight as seats with tether straps. Compact size, passenger of 188 cm fit comfortably in front seat.
Using the more upright position will in this car provide 20-25 degree angle and passenger up front will have an additional 10 cm of space.
Also tried to install in front passenger seat with great view in right side mirror. Incredibly easy installation without tether straps!

Brand new Axkid Minikid Core is finally here! The first Plustested seat with belt installation without tether straps.
Core is approved rear facing 40-125 cm, which in reality means from birth to around age seven. Maximum weight is 28 kg.
Installed with seat belt and it has of course passed the Plus Test. Recline can be changed in two positions and size is very compact.
Most impressive is NO TETHER STRAPS which means very easy installation in front and rear.
Forget about attaching tether straps under front seat, just install with seat belt and extend support leg. Done!
This is especially helpful in front seat with airbag off. Core can always be installed against dashboard with great view in right side mirror.

Attachment loops and Axkid Movekid installed in a VW ID.7. Angle 30-35 degrees, good leg space for child and huge room up front for passenger.
In VW, Seat, Skoda and Audi we always use the extra long loops and install under seat rails. Front seats can then be moved all the way back without issues and attaching tether straps is done in seconds.

BeSafe Stretch installed in an Audi Q4 with airbag off. Parents are having trouble installing seat correctly and also fitting a Doona infant seat.
Stretch currently installed in back seat but Doona won`t fit in the front. What`s the best solution? Stretch rarely works in front seat due to zero view in right side mirror but we try anyway. Thankfully things work fine in front seat with nice view in right side mirror which is extremely unusual. This means Doona can be placed behind passenger seat.
Lower tether straps attached under front of seat rails in seconds instead of tying straps together and wrapping around passenger seat. The lower straps from BeSafe are fantastic, very stiff and easy to thread under rails.
We also extended support leg at the very end. That means we can push down on car seat and make the self-locking straps work to tighten straps. Straps also crossed behind seat for easier installation. Stretch is now rock solid against dashboard and so tight the whole car will move when pushing hard on car seat. "That`s the dream" as MLK would have said.

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro installed in a Kia Optima. Angle around 30-35 degrees and little leg space used for young girl.
Kia Optima is a large car and there is huge space up front for an adult. As child grows she will be able to use large leg space and front passenger will still be comfortable.
Tether straps attached under seat rails which is easy in every car by Kia. No need to install attachment loops.

Most parents are worried about enough room for two rear facing seats in a regular car. Relax, it`s easy to fit two or three seats in most vehicles as long as seat selection is decent.
In the front seat a ONE 3 with airbag off and good view in right side mirror. Skoda is doing great with Isofix in front seat which is much appreciated.
In back seat two Minikid 4 Max. One with huge leg room and number two with far less.
Using middle seat can be very practical to maximise space in the car. Here we have three rear facing seats and two adults riding comfortably in a normal vehicle.

Axkid Minikid 4 Max installed in a BMW 330 with airbag off. Why do we use front seat so much for rear facing seats in Sweden???
In general we say all positions in the car are equally safe. But front seat with airbag off is the safest place for a rear facing child when looking at details.
Parents use front seat for practical reasons and not for additional safety. Rear facing in front seat has been used in Sweden since late 1960(!) with outstanding safety so we have a pretty good track record.
Today`s seat installed with 30-35 degree angle and no leg space for a young child. Very easy to attach tether straps under seat rails. We also crossed straps behind seat for easier installation.

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro and Minikid 4 Max installed in a Tesla MY. Home delivery with installation for a customer and we got spoiled with a warm garage.
Attachment loops installed both in front and back seat. A must in back seat of Tesla, helpful but not necessary up front.
4 Pro in front seat with 35 degree angle and little leg space for young child. Excellent view in right side mirror and we didn`t cross straps behind the seat since the loops are so helpful.
4 Max in back seat installed earlier by customer. We move seat forward to provide more leg space for 3.5-year old. Angle is around 30 degrees.
To make seat fit rock hard we tighten seat belt and get rid of slack. Pull up support leg and push down/wiggle on the seat to make the self tightening straps work. Extend support leg at the very end and seat will not move a single centimeter.
Loops in the back look awesome, make installation super fast and front seat can still move all the way back.

Tesla MY is a spacious car awesome for car seats but it`s (almost) impossible to attach tether straps for our superb long lasting rear facing seats (BeSafe Stretch, Klippan Opti 129, Britax Max-Safe Pro/Safe-Way M, Axkid Minikid 4 Pro/Max, etc).
Tesla is the only car with this huge issue. In all other cars straps can be attached under seat rails.
In the back we always install extra long loops and long loops in the front. With loops in place tether straps are attached in seconds and front seat can slide back and forth without issues.

Axkid ONE 3 in a Kia EV3. This car is described as smaller but thanks to the incredibly compact size of ONE 3 it`s possible to provide huge leg space for child and comfortable riding up front.
Seat right now adjusted to 35 degree angle for a 3.5-year old. Grandchild could easily sit with far less angle and leg space can then be increased even further.
Leg space for child right now is a massive 20+ cm and a tall adult will fit fine in front passenger seat.

Britax Max-Way Plus in a Tesla Model Y. Doing “the whole package” which means scheduled appointment for trying seats, installing attachment loops and then seat installation.
Attachment loops as usual placed on top of seat rails. In all other cars under the rails. Front seat can slide back all the way without issues and tether straps are quickly attached.
A pre-owned Max-Way Plus sold 2023 is selected and installed with good leg space and 35 degree angle for young child. Plenty of space up front for a tall adult.
Max-Way Plus is one of the best rear facing seats ever produced. Compact, very light weight at 7 kg, Plustested and easy to install. A favourite pre-owned seat and also great for traveling. If we try hard two “disadvantages” can be found.
First is length of use. We usually say five years or 120-125 cm which is great. But today we have rear facing seats which last to age nine or 140 cm which is more impressive.
Second is view in right side mirror when using front passenger seat with airbag off. MW sits quite high on vehicle seat and sides are in the way which usually means terrible view in the mirror.

Axkid Minikid 4 Max and BeSafe iZi Twist in a Skoda Enyaq. Today doing the “whole package”. Scheduled appointment to find a rear facing seat for a 4.5 years old, then installing attachment loops and finally seats.
In Skoda, VW, Seat and Audi the extra long attachment loops fit perfectly in the rear. We have a detailed video of installation here on the site and on Youtube if needed. iZi Twist in front seat with Isofix.
Skoda has been doing a great job with Isofix in front seat for years. Awesome! View in right side mirror is acceptable but not great.
Minikid 4 in back seat and 35 degree angle requested since child sleeps a lot in the car. Keep in mind not to use more than 35 degrees for safety reasons. No angle adjuster needed in this or any other car.
With attachment loops in place the self locking tether straps are quickly fastened and seat then rock solid simply by pushing down and wiggling. Extend support leg at the very end. Minikid 4 has styrofoam on the sides so push down on top of seat to avoid potential damage.
