Axkid Minikid 4 Pro in a Toyota Yaris with airbag off. We are trying seats for a young child switching from an infant seat.

Requirements are good fit both in front and rear. Minikid 4 Max/4 Pro are then pretty much the only alternative since view in right side mirror ALWAYS is acceptable or great.

Yaris is a smallish car and therefore helpful that Minikid 4 is the most compact rear facing seat. We try all positions in the car and it even fits well behind driver in more upright position. Strong!

Installed at 30-35 degree angle and little leg space for young child. Tether straps crossed behind seat to make installation easier.

Very easy to attach straps under seat rails and never a need for attachment loops in cars by Toyota. As usual great view in right side mirror.

Kind of a miracle:-) BeSafe Stretch in a Ford Tourneo Courier with airbag off and good view in right side mirror. We normally only recommend Axkid Minikid 4 Max or 4 Pro in front seat. Not because seats are better or safer, simply because right side mirror always is visible.

It’s a shame Stretch rarely works up front since installation is very solid thanks to the ARB, the bar pushing against back of vehicle seat. Tether straps in an angle backwards doesn’t work with any seat except Stretch which means lots of leg space for child is possible.

Axkid ONE 2 in a Skoda Kodiaq with airbag off. Isofix in front seat is still unusual but Skoda are doing a great job and now have it as standard in many cars.

This will improve since there are now bonuspoints when doing the Euro NCAP crash testing. Very practical with Isofix up front, especially with ONE/ONE 2/ONE 3.

Seat is installed in ten seconds and 30 cm leg space can be provided for child and still plenty of space behind passenger seat.

Two Axkid ONE 3 in a XPeng G9 which is a large luxury SUV with nice leather interior. A beige Axkid Minikid 4 already in place but best solution for two seats is desired.

We basically try all seats everywhere in the car:-) Behind driver, middle rear, behind passenger, front seat (with and without Isofix), two next to each other, etc.

Decision is ONE 3 due to compact size, easy installation and lasting rear facing for a long time. Current Minikid 4 is kept as a backup.

We always say that ONE 3 is installed in ten seconds even after two bottles of wine. Isofix connectors in this car were extremely difficult to reach and our first install required three minutes. Embarrassing:-)!

Mother fortunately had the magic touch and after a few tries she managed to install in way under ten seconds.

Axkid ONE 2 in a Skoda Karoq. We exclusively use ONE 2 for our rental operations in Sweden for those who prefer a rear facing seat with Isofix.

Lots of people are visiting Sweden and need a safe Plustestad rear facing seat for a week. Common for grandparents with grandkids visiting and parents thankfully have high standards for what`s acceptable.

We often nag about how compact ONE 2 is. And it`s true, no other rear facing seat is this tiny which makes it easy to fit in any car small to large. Despite the tiny size it will handle kids up to 23 kg and around 125-130 cm which is 7-ish years.

Placed behind 185 cm tall driver with 20 cm leg space for child. Very impressive since Karoq is a midsize SUV. Installation as usual ultra-easy and made in ten seconds even after a case of beer.

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro in a Renault Laguna. A safe rear facing seat is needed when grandchild is visiting from other side of the world.

A very special installation for my friend Peter who is a rockstar in the area of car seats. Not with installations, talking to parents or providing recommendations and instead with improving standards and procedures for car seats.

In Sweden a tiny group called TK242 handle everything regarding safety in cars for children. Peter founded the group in 1989 and has likely saved hundreds of lives during the years. The group stand behind all Swedish recommendations regarding car seats. Lifespan of seats, when to replace after an accident, how long kids should sit rear facing, the prestigious Plus Test together with VTI in Linköping, etc. I say “we” since I’ve been a part of the group for 15+ years.

Seat installed in the middle with 30-35 degree angle and built in angle adjuster in position two for more angle. Sometimes very practical to use middle rear since a rear facing child and four adults can ride in a “normal” car. A little tricky to get tether straps under seat rails but it worked fine without tools.

Axkid Miikid 2 in a Peugeot. Parent stopping by for more seats and we take some snaps of current setup.

Installed upright at 20-25 degree angle with nice leg space and plenty of room up front for a tall adult. Upper part of seat belt could go over the blue clamp but it`s a very minor issue.

Minikid 2 will last to around 120-125 cm due to a redesigned head support. Minikid 1 and Minikid 2 2022/23 have a slimmer head support which means it will usually last to 125+ cm.

This was done to please ADAC which was a mistake. ADAC does in general hate rear facing seats and much of their testing is full of rookie mistakes.

Which is why Plus Test is so effective. It`s based on clear objective criteria and not subjective nonsense.

Axkid Minikid Pro in a Saab 9-3. Installed with 35 degree angle for young child.

Built in angle adjuster in positon two and no extra external angle adjuster needed since we pull tether straps HARD.

Minikid 4 is very compact but more angle requires more space. Still fine up front for a medium height driver. Saab has like Volvo built in attachment loops which is awesome and makes installation easy.

Behind passenger seat already an Axkid Minikid 2 in very upright position for more room in front seat. As child grows seat can be placed more upright with large leg space.

What`s safer than an Axkid Minikid 4 Max in a Volvo XC60? Of course two Minikid 4 installed in identical XC60`s.

Doing home delivery, nice with two cars next to each other and ultra simple installation. Parent and grandparent can observe how the self-locking tether straps work and make installation rock solid with little effort.

Angle of seat 35 degrees and little leg space for young child. Plenty of space up front even though XC60 isn`t that spacious. As usual extra fast to install thanks to the built in attachment loops.

Britax Max-Way Plus in a Volvo XC60. Fantastic seat and a favourite among those who need a great travel seat or grandparents who must keep the little one safe on visits.

Installed fairly upright at 25-30 degrees and no leg space to provide great room up front. As usual very simple to install with the built in attachment loops.

Axkid ONE 3 in a beautiful and mega-fast Mercedes A35 AMG. ONE 3 is ultra-compact and in the first few photos adjusted with around 20 cm leg space for child. Space up front is still good for a large adult which is impressive since car isn`t that large.

In the last two photos leg space is set to minimum and space up front is then huge.

Two BeSafe Stretch in a Tesla Model Y installed by customer. Another seat is picked up so we took some photos of the current installation.

Model Y is huge so there is plenty of space up front with minimal leg space for child. Lower tether strap is too long for seat in the middle position which means loose fit.

We often recommend two seats next to each other when parents use a normal 5-seater car and need to fit three adults and two rear facing kids. Stretch is normally not a good seat to fit in middle rear since the ARB is obstructing belt buckle. But there is a slightly alternate belt routing which can be used and normally works well.

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro in a Toyota Auris with airbag off. Angle around 30 degrees, built in angle adjuster in position two and straps were also crossed behind the seat for firmer fit.

The self-locking straps with Minikid 4 Max work great but in front seat Minikid 4 Pro, with the manual straps, is easier to install. The crossed straps can be pulled really hard by hand for a tight fit.

As usual good view in right side mirror and easy to attach straps under seat rails. Never a need for attachment loops in any Toyota.

Tight fit even with the a pre-owned ONE 2, the most compact rear facing seat available. Very tight up front for an adult with good leg space for child. Better fit with minimum leg space.
