Moving an Axkid Minikid 4 from the rear to the front in a Ford Focus with airbag off. Right now a little high angle (45 degrees), seat belt could be tighter and support leg at negative angle (also defective).

First of all we fix the defective grey button which won`t lock support leg at any level. Unusual problem but fixed in a couple of minutes. Installed in front seat at 30 degree angle for older child.

As usual very easy to attach tether straps in any car by Ford. Seat against dashboard, tether straps crossed behind the seat and great view in right side mirror.

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro with airbag off in a Volvo V70. Need a rear facing seat which will mainly be used up front. Best options are then always Minikid 4 Max, Minikid 4 Pro or Minikid Core simply because view in right side mirror always is good.

We try a few different options, also in the back seat, and then install Minikid with 35 degree angle. Built in angle adjuster in position two and attachment loops under dashboard are of course used. Unlimited leg space can be provided but not needed for this youngster.

Tether straps have a hook at one end which is usually attached to back of car seat. In Volvo we use a slightly different method and reverse the straps. This makes installation easier since the hook now is attached directly to the small loops. View in right side mirror as usual awesome.

Axkid Minikid 4 Max and BeSafe Stretch in a Volvo XC60. Stretch already in place in the back and we need a new seat up front. Also try the backseat.

Stretch needs quite a bit of space so a bit tight in passenger seat. Minikid installed with 35 degree angle and airbag off but not possible to provide more leg space due to Stretch behind.

No angle adjuster needed and as usual easy to attach tether straps to the built in loops under dashboard.

Axkid Minikid 4 in a Skoda Superb with airbag off. Currently an old Maxi-Cosi Mobi in front seat with poor view in right side mirror. In back seat an Axkid Movekid with gigantic leg space.

We got some brand new Minikid 4 in color "Brick Melange" available at a bargain which is the nicest color ever by Axkid. We move tether straps for Movekid from seat bight and instead under seat rails which is much preferred. Leg space is an impressive 25 cm.

Minikid 4 up front with 30-35 degree angle and no external angle adjuster needed. Easy to attach tether straps under seat rails and we also crossed straps behind the seat. View in right side mirror awesome as usual.

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro in a VW Tiguan with airbag off. New rear facing seat needed for passenger seat so we try a bunch of different options. In back seat a Cybex which will be inherited by young sibling.

We know from experience that Minikid 4 Max/Pro and Minikid Core always offer the best view in right side mirror. Also true this time.

Very difficult to install seats with tether straps in Tesla so we always use attachment loops. Long ones fit perfect in the front.

Britax Max-Way in a Volvo V70. One of our pre-owned seats from 2023 for a grandchild. Easily one of the best rear facing seats ever produced.

Light weight (7 kg), Plustested, compact and lasting to around age five or 120-125 cm. We often refer to this seat as a great "secondary seat" since it`s so affordable but it`s also awesome as a primary seat.

A recent Max-Way in great condition is around €50, likely one of the best purchases ever for a parent. Max-Way/Max-Way Plus has one or possibly two downsides.

First, terrible in front seat with no view in right side mirror. Second, a bit unfair but rear facing time is not incredible with today`s high Swedish standards. Max-Way arrived in 2012 and replaced the awesome Hi-Way.

Fifteen years ago RF to five years was very good even though we had Britax Multi Tech and Britax Two-Way which lasted longer. Today rear facing to age 7-9 is common with a handful of seats.

Seat installed with 30 degree angle and great leg space for a three-year old. V70 is a large car and good space up front for an adult.

Axkid ONE 3 in a Citroen C5. Grandchild needs a new seat so we try seats in front and rear. Preference is a seat with easy installation in front seat with airbag off.

Axkid Minikid Core is then perfect since no tether straps are used. View in right side mirror actually quite poor, same with Minikid 4 Max/Pro. Partly due to driver being on the short side.

Easy installation is always nice so we try ONE 3 in the back seat which is installed in less than ten seconds even after two bottles of wine according to a friend. Grandma tries installing and removing the seat a few times and does an excellent job so ONE 3 is an easy choice.

Very impressive with 30 cm leg space for child and a tall adult is comfortable up front. Rear facing with Isofix to 23 kg or around 125-130 cm is also not too shabby. That`s the dream as MLK would have said.

Tesla Model Y with the whole package for a grandchild. Axkid Minikid 4 Max which last rear facing to around age nine or 140 cm with attachment loops to make installation easy.

Model Y is very spacious and perfect for kids/grandkids but unfortunately a nightmare for our awesome ultra-safe rear facing seats. In Tesla we use extra long loops in the back and long up front and these are installed on top of seat rails.

Minikid 4 installed with good leg space and about 30 degree angle. Lower tether straps not needed, the built in straps are attached directly to loops.

Since Minikid 4 is very compact there is huge space available for a tall passenger in front seat.

Axkid Minikid 4 Max with airbag off in an awesome Volvo XC90. Color is the nice looking "Glacier lake blue". In the back seat already a BeSafe Stretch.

Trying lots of seats which fit in front seat and also in the back. Another Stretch will barely fit in the front and view in right side mirror is also extremely poor. Also try Axkid Spinkid in the back which works fine.

Minikid 4 in middle rear also a good option if needed. Minikid 4 installed up front with airbag off and 35 degree angle. Unable to provide more leg space due to Stretch in the back seat. Great view in right side mirror.

Britax Safefix in a Volvo V70. 6-year old around 125 cm turning forward facing and needs a high back booster. Switching at 125 cm make things easy since most seats will work fine.

Trying different seats and are mainly looking at Kidfix Pro or Safefix. Behind driver we have a Axkid Minikid 1 already installed tightly.

Safefix is preferred by parents and is based on Advansafix which is a seat we don`t like in Sweden/EU since it`s forward facing with harness and top tether.

Safefix has worked surprisingly well with all our scheduled appointments. Very comfortable with nice adjustable "sleep position".

We also place 4-year old sibling in the seat for comparison. Fit is not too bad but parents will stay rear facing for quite a while longer.

Britax Max-Way Plus in a classic Citroen 2CV. Not sure but don`t think attachment loops are common in this car;-)

Grandchild won`t be traveling much this summer but a good Plustested rear facing seat is always helpful. Performance of this car in a collision is likely not awesome.

Tight in the back seat even though MW is a compact seat but the car is quite small.

Axkid UP in a Renault Scenic. Trying booster seats for a 7-year old around 115 cm tall. A little taller would be preferred but rear facing to age seven isn`t too bad:-)

Focusing on seats with a shorter seat cushion and we try Axkid UP, Maxi-Cosi Rodifix Pro 2, Rodifix R, Britax Kidfix Pro, Britax Safefix and booster pillows in several positions in the car.

All actually fit pretty well, child is very mature and no problems sitting still. The new Safefix from Britax was a very close contender.

UP with foot support is selected and we also have a Britax Max-Way and Max-Way Plus in back seat. No problem fitting all three together.

Axkid Minikid 4 Max in a Volvo XC 90 with airbag off. BeSafe iZi Modular RF i-Size behind passenger seat. Family is departing for long trips and looking for something working well in front seat.

Car is a 2026 T8, not only one of the safest cars ever, but also a rocket. Weighing 2.5 ton, this is the ultimate car in a collision, and 0-100 in around 4.5 seconds. Seven seats, room for family and other kids and also a beautiful vehicle.

As usual we are trying many different seats in various positions. BeSafe Stretch, Minikid Core, Minikid 4 Max/4 Pro, Britax Max-Way Plus, etc.

Minikid 4 Max installed up front at 35 degree angle and no angle adjuster needed. View in right side mirror is like a sunny winter day with blue skies high up in the Swedish mountains. Superb!

Britax Max-Way Plus in a Toyota RAV4. Grandparents need a safe and awesome seat to occasionally transport 1.5 year old grandchild. Tough to find anything better than a very affordable pre-owned MW Plus.

A seat we also mostly use in Sweden for seat rentals. Definitely top three of the best rear facing seats ever made and a fancier version of the regular Max-Way. Affordable, extremely light (7 kg), Plustested, very compact and rear facing to around 120-125 cm.

Only one downside, two if we are picky. It works very poorly in front passenger seat with airbag off due to crappy view in side mirror. Rear facing to 120-125 was excellent when Max-Way arrived in 2012. Today we have many seats lasting far longer, about age nine, which could possibly be a (picky) downside.

Angle around 35 degrees, easy to attach tether straps under seat rails and plenty of space for a tall adult up front.
